I will miss him terribly but York is only 50 miles away so I'm sure I will still see him fairly often. Shaggy (the dog) will miss him even more than I will I think! I asked Michael if he will miss me, No he said, but I will miss Shaggy. Typical! I'm really glad that he isn't the homesick type because that would make me worry. He is very independant and will grasp the opportunities in front of him with all his might. I just know that he has a great future ahead of him.
Here he is in his finery at his Leaver's Ball from Hymers College, with his younger brother Mason who was dressed up for his School Prom.

Great news Jill, no wonder you're so proud! It doesn't matter whether it's 50 miles or 500 miles you will still miss him at least he's only going to be a bus ride away. Ben didn't do well unfortunately, but he doesn't seem too bothered about it cos he's passed everything to join the RAF, just waiting on them giving him a date. He's off to the Job Centre tomorrow to see if he can get something to tide him over till he joins up
ReplyDeleteWonderful to hear of someone who got the results they desired, that's quite a line-up.
ReplyDeleteMy son is seven right now. I can't imagine what it must be like to watch them go, but I suspect- and hope- it's a freeing rite of passage.
Thanks for this lovely post...I don't seem to be able to find enough British blogs. Good luck to you both.
